Wuhan is located in the center of central China, the capital of Hubei Province, and the largest city in Central China. The Yangtze River and the Han River meet in the center of the city, and the three towns "Wuchang", "Hankou" and "Hanyang". Wuhan is known as the "thoroughfare of nine provinces". Because of its central location for transportation and industry, Wuhan is described as the "Chicago of the East".
